Friends, the 65 anniversary of the victory over Fascists is approaching. The 9th of May is Victory day in Russia which is widely celebrated. It’s a national Russian holiday close to every family. It’s a holiday with tears and happiness mixed together. Even Russian children perhaps genetically remember the horrors of this war. They are sitting dead silent when there is a performance on the stage devoted to this war. There are a lot of songs, poetry, performances, books, documentaries, films in Russia telling about this disaster and crime against humanity.
But unfortunately there those who think a war is an adventure and there’s nothing unnatural or awful when people are killed.
In Russia most of the monuments are those to victims or soldiers of war. Neo-fascists or skin-headed or other extremist youth organizations have as its aim to destroy the very memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the lives of others.
